These days, fasting is such a hot topic, that I thought I would write a blog post that could make you rethink your own daily practice. If you are an Indian, this one is for you.
There are several fasting methods, all of which have their pros and cons. I’ve been fasting for ten years and I can tell you that it’s a very intense thing to do. Most of my fasting has been done without any kind of medical supervision, but now I’ve been advised by my doctor to give it a try. I decided to do it for an entire month and also to go on a low-carb diet.
Before I go on to talk about my fasting regimen, there are a few things I want to clarify about what happened to me. So I will first explain what I did and why I did it. I am a medical doctor, so this is what I had to go through for my first fasting period.
This is the medical equivalent of being given a life-saving drug, and I found it to be extremely intense. I did not do this on purpose, and I don’t know what happened. Maybe I was sleep deprived or something, but I did not do this to myself. I was supposed to have fasted for 10 days and this is what happened.
A medical condition called anorexia is defined as “compulsive restriction of food intake.” It’s a disorder where the person is so driven by their hunger that they have no other choice, and have no willpower to resist it. This type of behavior is a direct result of the brain’s inability to use the body’s endocrine system to reduce the amount of calories consumed.
The only reason to fast for 10 days is to remove the cause of anorexia, which is eating too much, or being underweight. If this happens, it’s not a good idea to fast for long periods of time. In fact, it can make the anorexic worse and more likely to be depressed.
These people are not only the most miserable souls I’ve ever met, but also the most addicted to foods. They’ve been on the Atkins diet for a couple of months, and it’s not going well. One of the most disturbing things I’ve seen is how easily they’ve been able to slip into a state of mental illness. It’s not a matter of willpower.
When I was a kid, the Atkins diet was the diet of choice to treat diabetes. Nowadays people have a lot different ideas about what constitutes a healthy diet, but for every diet you can name, there is a corresponding disease. I don’t know what it is that people who are on the Atkins diet think theyve been doing, but they sure haven’t.
I have a really strong feeling that there is some sort of genetic factor that goes into the genetic makeup of our individual genes. It might not be genetic, but it might be something that we have to do to control our own genes. It could be a genetic mutation from some other gene. It could be something like weve done with cancer because weve been on a diet for many years and it might be possible that our genes were somehow linked to cancer.
Its hard to say. We know that a lot of people in South America are on this process, but we dont know what our genes are, and its hard to tell how this is going to affect us.
