It isn’t easy at all. In this video, coach dillon buss explains how he used the three levels of self-awareness.
Self-awareness comes in two different forms: The first one is about noticing when you are on autopilot. When you are on autopilot, you are not in control of your own life. When you start to understand you are on autopilot, you can then decide how to respond to whatever situation you are in. The second type of self-awareness is about noticing when you are aware of the situation you are in.
The video goes on to discuss the difference between autopilot and self-awareness. When you are on autopilot, you allow your thoughts and actions to be controlled by your subconscious mind. When you are aware of your situation on autopilot, you are aware of your surroundings and what you can do to control your own life and your own actions.
In the video, Dillon Buss (the son of a convicted felon) describes himself as having autopilot. He explains that he wakes up on the beach, but he doesn’t remember what happened and that he can’t turn off autopilot. He goes on to describe that when he wakes up, he has no memory of anything. It’s like he is a character in a movie.
It’s pretty obvious that Dillon Buss has some sort of “auto pilot” problem, but it’s more like he’s just a character in a movie. The truth is that autopilot is a really interesting concept that hasn’t been properly explored in film. The idea of the conscious mind and the subconscious mind is really interesting and it will be fun to see what sort of stuff we can come up with if we start digging deeper.
There’s a point to be made about the idea of an unconscious mind and the idea that our actions are largely determined by our thoughts. We’ve all seen the way children tend to be unresponsive to adult voice. That’s because the child’s mind operates on autopilot. Most of our actions are dictated by our unconscious desires and intentions, not on what we actually think and feel about things. Therein lies the idea of autopilot, and it’s just fascinating to see where it leads.
We have a tendency to make decisions that are based on our desires and emotions. But a person with self-awareness will say, “No, it’s not that my decision to get drunk came from an unconscious desire. Its that it came from my desire to get drunk. I’m not an idiot. I knew I was going to get drunk. It just came out unconsciously.
We have been conditioned to believe that our feelings come from what we think and what we want, which is why so many people in their teenage years get into trouble. But that’s not always true. A person with self-awareness will say, “I was just having a bad day. I didn’t want to go to school today, so I slept over at my parents’ house.” That’s where we lose our control.
Most of the time, our feelings are just the result of what we see and want. However, it is possible to have a lack of self-awareness. For example, when I was a kid (around 8 or 9 years old), I would wake up in the middle of the night and feel like I couldn’t breathe. This would happen when I had a bad dream that I couldn’t remember the details of. That’s how I lost control.
But don’t lose control because of that. When you know what you want to do, you can control the things that cause you to lose control. This is what I always hear from my clients. When they have a problem, they always see their problem and want to fix it. However, they forget there’s more to the problem than just a problem. They forget that their issue might not be the problem, just the part of them they’re lacking.
